Ethereum: Trying to Use Block Erupters with Ubuntu 13.04
I’m triying to mine Ethereum on Ubuntu 13.04 syn. I’ve installed everything for Bitcoin mining, including the latest of Bitcoin-Qt, cgminer, and bfgminer. However,after setting up the Block Erupters, it is supposely compatible with thee miners, myistem is struggling to get started.
As soon as I try tonect the Block Erupter USB hub to my Ubuntu 13.04 box, the system crashes or freezes. The error message indicates that’s a problem that blocker itsel, but I’ve double-checked its installation and configuration. It seems likesomething is amiss.
My question is: can anyone confirm that Block Erupters are compatible with Ubuntu 13.04? Have ones successfullly used them for Ethereum mining on this system?
I’d love foil miners who has been tried roject.
Update: After some reseerch and trial-and-error, it seems that I was correct in assuming a problem that the blocker. However, I found arcaround: use librethorpe package of the original Block Erupter software. This modified version appeal to be beatable with Ubuntu 13.04.
